Gennoor was established in 2024 in Ghent. It is not a firm with a bench: the people who take the mandate are the people who do the work.

Why these two

The same businesses, from different seats

Matteo Gatta and Kathelijne Winderickx did not meet on the advisory circuit. Their records overlap inside the same organisations — BICS, TeleSign, and the Proximus fibre structures — held from opposite sides of the table. One carried the P&L, the commercial organisation and the network decision. The other carried the legal, regulatory and human-capital function, the transactions, and the governance that had to survive them.

That is the whole argument for the partnership. Most decisions a board finds genuinely hard sit exactly on the seam between those two views: what the business needs to do, and what it can defend having done.

Matteo Gatta

Commercial leadership, corporate development and infrastructure

Matteo Gatta has spent more than twenty years inside communications businesses, latterly running them. He was Chief Executive of BICS from 2021 to 2024, leading the turnaround of a global carrier whose direct margin, EBITDA and operating cash flow had been falling for several years, and Chief Executive of Scarlet before that.

Between those seats he set network and technology strategy at Proximus — the fibre-to-the-home strategy and the joint ventures that funded it, the active network sharing agreement with Orange, the 5G spectrum positions in Belgium and Luxembourg. Since 2024 he has advised through Gennoor, including nine months of 2025 as Chief Revenue Officer of Unifonic in Riyadh.

Kathelijne Winderickx

Governance, corporate affairs and transactions

Kathelijne Winderickx has spent her career on the governance side of the same industry. She was Legal Director for Belgacom’s consumer business, then the executive responsible for human resources, legal, regulatory affairs and internal communication across the BICS group — including TeleSign, the US digital identity business, from its acquisition in 2017.

At Proximus she led international corporate affairs across some sixty affiliates in Europe, the United States, Asia and Africa, after running the group-wide efficiency programme that preceded it. She was General Counsel and Corporate Director for bpost’s Belgium–Netherlands last-mile business through 2025, and has sat on boards in fibre infrastructure, cloud communications and welfare.

The practice

We take the seat, not the retainer.

Non-executive and board mandates, advisory engagements, and interim or fractional executive roles where the accountability is real. Work is taken on in small numbers, because the alternative is advice written at a distance from the consequence.
